The wind starts to pick up and the sky turns from bright blue to a dingy gray. I’m only wearing a tee-shirt, shorts, and flipflops — crouched down by the river. It took me half an hour to walk here. I hear a loud crash of thunder in the distance.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!”
Now I start to run. First up the stairs and then along the path back up the valley. I try to beat the storm but I know that I’m not going to make it. Raindrops begin to hit my face and the trees rustle loudly.
